Abstract：Lactic acid bacteria, as the safest and most effective probiotics, are widely used in medical, food and feed industries. However, probiotic properties of lactic acid bacteria are easily affected by many factors. The adhesion to intestinal mucosa is the first prerequisite for Lactobacillus to play a good role in probiosis. After adhesion to intestinal mucosa, Lactobacillus can not only be colonized in the intestinal tract, but also inhibit the proliferation of pathogenic bacteria by competing with the pathogenic bacteria for the adhesion site. Meanwhile, Lactobacillus can strengthen the intestinal mucous barrier and reduce the invasion of harmful microorganisms by regulating the expression of mucin in intestinal mucous layer. This arlicle mainly discussed the adhesion characteristics and functions of lactic acid bacteria, aimed toprovide help for the in-depth understanding and scientific application of lactic acid bacteria.
